Hello, from behind the lens
I'm Jill! I didn't find photography until I was in my early 30's, after trying every creative avenue that never quite felt right until I was introduced to the iPhone. I feel in love with how easy it was to capture images and edit them in artistic ways. However, that was short lived and I wanted to produce large works of art that I could display in my home. Friends and family would comment on how much they loved coming to my home to see what new pieces I had created and I had mainly focused on fashion and Beauty Photography.
Fast forward to Covid, Skittles (the yellow labrador retriever to my left) decided I was going to be her Pawrent and we have been pretty much inseparable ever since. She really saved my sanity during Covid and also rekindled my love for photography in a different way. Skittles, being an American Labrador Retriever, loves sports (especially water ones) and Beach Dog Photography is homage to her!
I believe it takes more than having a great eye and photography knowlage to make great images of dogs. Understanding them is key! I belong to a number of educational platforms such as Hair of the Dog Academy and Unleashed Education. I am an associate member of the Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers and Certified in Canine First Aid.
